Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Power Systems Engineer to join the team! This is a new role within the team and an opportunity to play a critical part in implementing their VPP. This individual will be working in a hybrid environment with various energy sources, among a strong, collaborative team!
Duties:
- Design, develop, and implement power system solutions for our VPP, including the integration of renewable energy sources (solar, wind), energy storage systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure
- Analyze and assess the performance of existing and proposed power systems, identifying potential vulnerabilities and recommending improvements
- Conduct hands-on testing of power systems components, including switch-mode power supplies, in our on-site laboratory
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and project managers, to ensure successful project execution
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation and presentations
Desired Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years of professional experience in the power industry, with a strong emphasis on power systems engineering
- Proven understanding of power system fundamentals, including AC/DC power conversion, grid operations, and protection systems
- Deep understanding of switch-mode power supplies, including their design, operation, and testing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively
